Ben morris

The flexible learning programme has proved again that it is a winner when recent student Ben Morris rode his 3rd winner from only 7 mounts in public. He also finished placed on one of the other rides.

Ben is already earning praise from racing pundits as "looks a youngster going places"

Recent press have written:

"Trainer Dave Morris had every reason to be proud after Cragganmore Creek had been given a peach of a ride by his son Ben in the 1m3f amateur riders' handicap.
The 17-year-old took the proven stayer to the front fully five furlongs from home and kept his mount galloping on to provide him with a second winner. The trainer said: "He has only had a handful of rides, but today he looked like a professional. I'm absolutely thrilled." Racing Post 6 February 2008

And

"Young Ben Morris, who regularly rides work for Sir Mark Prescott and is sure to be learning fast under his tutelage, made it three wins from just seven rides when partnering Wodhill Schnaps, trained by his father Dave, to a runaway eight lengths victory in the 1m amateur riders' handicap." Racing Post 1 March 2008

While attending the FLP, Ben showed how dedicated and focused he was about his career in racing. Realising his weight would not be ideal to ride as an apprentice, he decided early on to set his goal to ride as an amateur jockey, learning technique and gain experience in race riding before turning professional as a conditional jockey.

6 months before finishing the FLP Ben was already riding out and riding work for Sir Mark Prescott and for his father, trainer Mr. Dave Morris.
Ben also completed a Cat A licensing course, and while he had only just turned 16, made a very good account of himself against older and more experienced riders.
