Brixton Comes to Newmarket
The British Racing School were pleased to host the Ebony Horse Club on a two day visit to the School. Ebony is a charitable organisation set up to enable children in Brixton and surrounding areas to learn to ride. Many of the children come from backgrounds that would not otherwise give them the opportunity to spend time with horses.
The BRS has had links with Ebony for some time and invited a group of students to spend two days in Newmarket to learn more about the racing industry. While they were here the eight children went down to the yard, under the supervision of Aimee Hockley, working on a variety of horse related tasks. They also spent a morning touring Newmarket, visiting the gallops, a trainers yard and the National Stud. By the end of the two days several children said that they hoped to return on the Foundation Course and pursue racing as their chosen career.
