New Facilities are Opened at The British Racing School
Paul Roy, Chairman of The British Horseracing Authority officially open the latest phase of new facilities at The British Racing School on Friday 3rd October. The new buildings include an American Barn containing 20 boxes, horse walker and additional storage.
The facilities are needed to support the continued expansion and development of training at the School. Over the last two years, the School has trained more Foundation Course trainees than ever before. In addition we continue to develop the range of training for apprentice, conditional, amateur and point to point riders. With 73 boxes now available, the school is well resourced to support the very best training in the UK. It also provides the School with flexibility to allow riders requiring training, to bring their own horses. This has already resulted in a very successful Pony Racing Camp and a Residential Seminar for the Rehabilitation of Racehorses.
The project has been funded through the generosity of the EB Moller Charitable Trust and The Childwick Trust. The design of the barn incorporates the best features of current stable design and makes use of a lightweight pressed steel structure which has resulted in a high quality, cost effective solution.
Rory MacDonald, the Chief Executive of The British Racing School commented 'We are determined to improve the training that we provide to the racing industry. To support this, we must therefore continue to develop the facilities. These new facilities are a real step forward in realising our intentions'.
