Nigel Elwes


The Chairman of the Trustees of The British Racing School, Nigel Elwes, has been awarded a CBE in the Queens Birthday Honours for his services to the horseracing industry.

Nigel Elwes has been a Trustee of The British Racing School for many years and the Chairman since 2003. In addition he is Chairman of Racing Welfare Charities and a Council Member of The Thoroughbred Breeders Association, having previously served as Chairman from 1995 - 2003. He is also a Director of Kempton Park and a member of the Sandown Race Committee.

Admitting to being "flabbergasted" by the award, he has been a key part of the Schools development. Rory MacDonald, the Chief Executive commented "Nigel has made a huge contribution to the success of the School; he has provided sound advice when needed to the Management Team and been a wonderful source of encouragement and support. His award for his services to racing is richly deserved"
