Pony Racing Camp 2008
The British Racing School hosted the first ever Pony Racing Camp last week and it was hailed as great success. Twelve lucky riders and ponies managed to secure their place on the five day residential camp. Sessions throughout the week concentrated on position, riding a finish and the rules of racing.
Visits focused around racing and training were included in the programme as well as some fun evening sessions.
Gemma Dawson, Finance Director at The British Racing School said "We are in an excellent position to offer high quality training to those wishing to be involved in Pony Racing, our facilities are World class and we are able to utilise the cutting edge equipment used for our Jockey training. All of the riders were taught not only on their ponies but also using the simulators and video reviews to help improve their position. Towards the end of the week former Champion Conditionals Jamie Moore and William Kennedy came to teach the riders how to ride a finish, this was a real buzz for the kids".
Joey, an attendee on the camp said "It was the best thing ever, thank you all very very much, it was amazing and I think you should do it again, I would LOVE to come again!"
