David Griffiths 2

David Griffiths became the third Peoples Race winner in as many years making it a training treble for the British Racing School (BRS).

Previous winners; Kevin Old and Clare Twemlow had both been trained by Richard Perham at the BRS and Richard Perham is very proud of all of them, "Like Clare last year, David has been one of our favourites to win from the first selection stage. He showed all of the right attributes from day one and since that initial selection stage he worked really hard to improve further and that's exactly what he did. There is a need to be incredibly dedicated and sacrifice a lot of time so that the performance on the day is top class".

Second on the day was Craig Brown who owns the pub situated very handily at the bottom of Jonjo O'Neill's gallops. Richard say's "Craig had very little riding experience and nearly went out on the first selection stage. His saving grace was his high level of fitness and attitude to listen and learn. Once he started riding out on a regular basis for Jonjo he did not stop improving".

The day was not just about the winning connections, all of the riders who got through to the race worked incredibly hard and were a credit to the British Racing School and the Northern Racing College. Well done to all those who took part.
