Brixton Comes to The British Racing School
10 youngsters aged between 12 and 15 made there way to the BRS from Brixton in London this October.
A select group of the members from Ebony horse club experienced the gallops, a trainers yard, a day at Newmarket races and what it is like to work in a real racing yard during their 2 day stay at the BRS.
One of the highlights of the 2 days was a riding lesson at nearby Coach House riding stables. "We got to ride out in the countryside" said Stefan aged 15 "which is something we don't normally get to do."
14 year old Nashon said "Seeing a racehorse I helped to tack up and groom on the gallops ridden by a BRS student was really exciting"
Ebony Horse Club provides riding for all children in Coldharbour Ward, Brixton, London, aged eight to nineteen years who would otherwise have no means of accessing the sport, but specialises in children with emotional and behavioral difficulties, especially those excluded from school.
The club offers riding, horse care lessons and visits to relevant places of interest including the British Racing School, Newmarket, museums and horse shows.
