John Dunlop

John Dunlop has just announced that he will retire as a trainer at the end of the season.

There will, no doubt, be many accolades of his many achievements including 10 British Classics. However what is less well known is his work to help those who work in racing. In addition to being a Trustee of The British Racing School for over 21 years from its very beginnings, he was a long serving Trustee of Racing Welfare Charities and Moorcroft Racehorse Rehabilitation Centre. For this work in supporting racing charities, he was awarded a much deserved OBE.

His contribution to the BRS was immense. He was a constant source of advice and support to the Senior Management Team and he took a keen interest in the affairs of The School. He retired as a Trustee in 2010 but still keeps very much in touch. We wish him a long and happy retirement from his role as a trainer.
