Koreans

Once again we are delighted to host a group of four grooms from the Korea Racing Authority (KRA) for a three month stay in Newmarket.

This has become an annual event and we are pleased that the KRA continues to value the training that we deliver to their staff. The four grooms have all worked with racehorses in Korea for at least six years but the visit aims to improve their riding technique and to equip them with the skills necessary to break yearlings. We are fortunate to have Michael Tebbutt, a former jockey, as the group's tutor and mentor this year. Whilst language is a challenge, Michael has been pleased with the progress they have made so far and with their enthusiasm and eagerness to learn. From Monday they will start to get to grips with breaking yearlings and to assist with this the School will take in a yearling to give them first hand experience - a first!
