Sparkes Heads to OZ
Glen Sparkes is now well into the programme which has been organised as a result of him winning the Tristram Ricketts Fellowship.
He has already attended a number of coaching sessions with Yogi Breisner, the Chef d'Equip of the British Three Day Event Team which has been an interesting insight about how this experience can be applied in racing.
Glen has now departed for Australia where he is spending 3 weeks looking at the training that is provided within the racing industry there. This will be an invaluable insight into how another country tackles what would appear to be similar issues that we face in the UK.
Over the summer, various other activities are planned. These include a visit to the football academies at Liverpool and Ipswich. He will also visit the King's Troop Royal Artillery in London to see how the army tackles equine training. Later this year, he will also visit the North American Racing Academy at Lexington, Kentucky and he will embark on a sports coaching qualification.
