Twemlow wins Town Plate
Clare Twemlow, ex Finance Director of the British Racing School has added another thing to her CV by becoming the 343rd winner of the Newmarket Town Plate.
The victory was particularly special for 2 reasons. Firstly she was riding Raifteiri who is trained by her partner Neil King but secondly and probably more profound is that this is Clare's first appearance back on a racecourse since breaking her back in a fall on Newmarket's Long Hill gallop in 2009.
Twemlow is no stranger to an Amateur Race victory - in 2008 she won the John Smith's People's Race at Aintree, so when she made her move 4 furlongs out in the Town Plate she was confident of the horse she had left under her and she went on to win by an impressive 12 lengths.
Raifteiri owned by the Across the Pond Partnership will next be in action at Uttoxeter in September and we hope that Clare will also be looking for another race again soon.
