Last week we opened our doors to a visit from twice Champion Jockey and BRS Graduate Paul Hanagan.

Every year we ask the Champion Jockey for a donation towards a tree for our Champions Avenue, and we were very grateful for the additional donation Paul Hanagan made. The money has been used to improve the fitness equipment we have on site for Jockey Training. Having recently re-located to Newmarket to take up his new role as 1st jockey to Sheik Hamdam al Maktoum, we were delighted to open our doors to Paul once again. He was amazed having not been here since he graduated from course 99 back in 1997 "I can't believe how much it has changed; it's so much bigger". We are now up to course 260 so have given hundreds of people a career in Horseracing.

Paul got into the spirit of the tour and had a go on some of the equipment he'd helped provide saying "I can really feel it in my calves" whilst testing the Balance Board.

It is great for the students to have a visit from someone who started off the same way they did and who has now achieved the dream. The equipment Paul has given to The BRS will help so many young jockeys and is a great incentive to get fit!
