The Assistant Trainers Course is a residential course run over two days. The aim of this course is to illustrate the importance of an assistant trainers' role both in the yards and on the racecourse.

The course covers aspects of Staff Management, Handicapping, Media Training, Health and Safety, Racing Welfare, BHA's Licensing and Security functions, Weatherbys Operations and the Rules.

This course is suitable for Head Grooms as well as Assistants. A recommendation from the trainer or a CV proving sufficient experience must accompany an application.

Cost:

The cost of the course is normally £300.00, however the British Horseracing Authority (BHA) are funding 50% of the course fee for 2007. The amount payable is £150.00. This is inclusive of tuition, course literature, refreshments and bed and breakfast accommodation.
