The British Racing School is the main provider of amateur jockey training in Great Britain.

This course is designed to help potential amateur riders understand the standards required to obtain a riding permit from the British Horseracing Authority (BHA).

The course is 3 days, fully residential and includes:

- Riding
- Video analysis
- Simulator training
- Fitness assessment & advice
- Diet & Nutrition advice
- BHA Rules and Regulations
- BHA Security

Prior to attending the course, the applicant must be proficient and experienced in the following:

- Galloping a racehorse at speed
- Riding work on a racehorse
- Jumping a racehorse out of the stalls
