The progress of an Apprentice is monitored by the British Horseracing Authority.

An Apprentice Jockey who has ridden less than 20 winners will be required to attend a four day training course annually at the British Racing School.

The aim of Continuation Training is to provide Apprentice Jockeys with necessary knowledge to develop the range of skills that are required at this stage in their professional career.

Jockeys will be notified by the British Horseracing Authority Licensing Department when they are required to attend.
