Report from Easter Camp 2010 - by Hector Crouch
I found the camp thoroughly enjoyable and would definitely return to it, the staff were incredibly friendly and the tuition was excellent, the stabling was very good also the tack room was pristine and the lockers were very secure, the wash down area was also very good.
The accommodation at the camp was very good the rooms were pristine they were incredibly smart and easy to keep clean and the en-suite was very tidy and clean, the television in the room was also a big added bonus, the only problem was the doors locked
automatically when they shut with or without your key!!! so many people ended up locked out (tom!) especially but apart from that the rooms were very good.
The canteen served up some amazing food like the Burgers, fish & chips and the cooked breakfast every single morning! This was very good after mucking out and feeding, waters e.t.c this was one of my favorite parts of camp as they were so good and the kitchen staff were very friendly.
The most amazing part of camp was definitely riding upsides with Ted Durcan on the straight, that was really good as we going incredibly fast and I was upsides him on my own as the other person got run off with! He was very supportive of us and tried his best to help us and point out were we could improve our styles and also this gave us an opportunity to practice following out instructions to the letter.
The most annoying part of camp was were Gemma refused to let us now who the jockeys were until the last minute and had us guessing all day, I think they were all sick of us going "is it him" "it is isn't it" so just before we left to tack up they told us that Seb Saunders and Mickey Fenton would be the jockeys riding in the mounted games.
The funniest part of camp was definitely the national stud and anyone who was there will now exactly what I'm talking about, it had us all in stitches.
Overall the Easter camp was and interesting, incredible, jaw dropping trip and I would definitely come again.
