TRIC 2011

Emotions ran high when legendary trainer Ian Balding received a standing ovation following his moving presentation to The Racing Industry Course delegates.

This was just one of the key episodes during the five day British Horseracing Authority programme, hosted last week by The British Racing School, and sponsored by Weatherbys. Nick Luck's debut speech gave a wonderful insight into the ups and downs facing racings media operation with 4 lucky people then being invited to a 'behind the scenes' tour of Channel 4's Morning Line at Sandown on Saturday.

Highlights of the week included a morning on the gallops with Henry Cecil who joined the guests for a Gala Dinner at the Jockey Club Rooms where Nic Coward gave a rousing speech on behalf of the British Horseracing Authority.

A private viewing of the magnificent stallions at Darley coupled with a guided tour round Tattersalls gave the thirty three delegates a thorough insight into the thoroughbred breeding industry.

High class presentations from notable speakers such as Rod Street Chief Executive of Racing for Change, Michael O'Hagan of Irish Thoroughbred Marketing and Alan Morcombe, The Horsemen's Group provoked lively debate and certainly gave the group a chance to air their views to the industries leading members.

TRIC was again a wonderful triumph and the British Horseracing Authority and the British Racing School looks forward to building on this achievement in the future.
