I am now in my last week at The British Racing School and time has flown by. All of the Advanced found out their placements earlier this week and everyone seems happy with where they are going. I am going to Mark Tompkins in Newmarket. I can't wait. I have a couple of weeks off over Christmas and New Year then I start my new job on 5th January 2009 which will probably consist of riding out 4 lots a day.

We had another group join us this week so for our last week there is actually 3 groups on the Foundation Course at once, it's a bit hectic but good fun.

This week is quite a busy one as we have so much to sort out with ringing our trainers and arranging accommodation etc. We also have our last written test this week so must get revising! Plus I still have to decide what horse I'm going to have for my last ride. At th emoment I'm thinking of either Lord Bernie or Harlov, not sure yet.

Anyway it's time to say goodbye! I've had a great time at The British Racing School and have made alot of friends that I hope to stay in contact with. The riding has been an amazing experience and I can't believe how much I have learnt since I have been here.

I wish Courses 224 and 225 loads of luck for the remainder of their course. Many thanks.

It's our last week on our course! I'm happy to be going home but sad at the same time.

We found out what trainers' yards we're going to on Friday, we've all got really good jobs so we're all excited!

We rode work up the straights the other day, I was riding Prairie Wolf, we got up to 40 mph, very fast, the biggest adrenaline rush ever! Our new beginners arrived on Monday all but one turned up, so it should make it slightly easier on the old beginners.

It's going to be very sad when we leave because of all the friends we've made, fortunately for myself a couple of my friends are only 10 minutes or so away which is great.

We've got our last ride on the Monday we leave so all of our friends and family will be watching us up the straights. I think I've got Frileux Royal as my last ride, probably my favourite ride here.

One of our most favourite horses (especially mine!) Propspero had to be put to sleep the other day due to injury which wasn't great but we got another new horse which seemed to brighten everybody's spirits up. He's called Vanablin and he came from Andrew Balding's yard.

It's going to be my last blog so I wish everyone the best of luck who is coming on the course. The best experience ever!

Ash.
