BRS Blog 30th – 3rd November

You know winter is approaching when the clocks change and the evenings draw in significantly quicker. However, one benefit is that the mornings have been lighter which our trainees will no doubt be grateful for as it makes getting out of bed a bit easier!

We welcomed Course 316 here this week who started with us on Monday. We are looking forward to watching them all progress throughout their training and they’ve all settled into the routine here well. They’re off to Go Ape at Thetford Forest on Sunday for a team building day and will be tackling the tree-top rope course. Photos to follow in next week’s blog.

We also held a Halloween party for our trainees at the weekend with lots of party games including apple bobbing, pumpkin carving and turning each other into mummies! All the trainees had a great time and the photos below show the fantastic lengths to which they went to dress up.

In other news we welcomed back BRS graduate David Egan, who was not only recently crowned 2017 Stobart Champion Apprentice but also won the Racing Excellence Hands and Heels Series! It’s fantastic to see a former trainee doing so well. David heads off to America next week to start work for trainer Wesley Ward, another example of the international travel opportunities available to those who work in racing. He is pictured below collecting his trophy from our Chairman Martin Mitchell.
