Georgia Cox holds on to win the Racing Excellence Training Series 2016

Georgia Cox, apprentice to William Haggas was crowned Champion of the Racing Excellence Training Series at Doncaster on Saturday 22nd October. 20 year old Georgia has had a great season riding 21 winners to date out of her 29 career wins.

Georgia is coached by Michael Tebbutt as part of the Jockey Coaching Programme, Michael said “Georgia has had a fantastic season culminating in winning the Apprentice Training Series in which she has improved not only her technical skills but also her tactical awareness through the whole year, She works and trains very hard keeping her fitness at a high level which is vital when race riding.”

Georgia receives £1000 for winning the series to put towards developing her race riding career.

George Wood, Apprentice to James Fanshawe won the final race of the series. George has ridden 34 career winners since taking out his licence in 2015.
