The annual EARS Apprentice race took place at Pisa in Italy on Saturday 17th October.

There were ten runners, with two riders from each of the member countries - France, Ireland, Germany, Italy and the UK. The UK contingent was made up of Kieren Fox representing the British Racing School and Nora Looby from the Northern Racing College.

The race ended up with an Irish one two and as a result they won the trophy.

EARS Race Final Furlong

The race provides valuable experience for inexperienced apprentices to ride abroad. Keiren, who attended Course 193 in January 2006 and currently works for Michael Attwater was having his first ride abroad.


The 2010 race will be held at Doncaster next autumn.
