Gracey-Davison turns Pro
Amateur jockey Gemma Gracey-Davison is soon to reap the rewards of her success when she makes the switch to holding a professional licence. She has held her Category B Amateur Licence since attending the BRS licence course back in November 2006.
Gracey-Davison, daughter of trainer Zoe Davison and former jockey Gerry Gracey, is making the change due to the rule which dictates that owners must pay a full riding fee to the Amateur Jockeys Association once a jockey has had 75 rides against professionals; Gemma, 21, clocked up 79 rides in the 2008-09 season alone, which saw her finishing runner-up in the Fegentri Championship in 2008. She has also been involved in the Hands and Heels Jumps series over the last 2 seasons.
