David Griffiths 2

John Smith's Peoples race winner, David Griffiths, returned to trainer Ian Williams' yard on Tuesday to hand over half of his £50,000 charity prize to Midlands Air Ambulance, with the other £25,000 being donated to the Injured Jockeys' Fund.

Griffiths, 25, trained for the Peoples Race, which is held at Aintree on Grand National day, at The British Racing School. This gives a 100% strike rate for the British Racing School trainees in this race since its inception 3 years ago. He has recently returned to the BRS for his Category A Permit Seminar and Assessments, during which he performed to a very high standard. David hopes to have his amateur licence before the end of the month, but looking into the future he eventually wants to turn his hand to training, so hopefully the British Racing School can welcome him back for the Trainers Modules.
