Lingfield

Nathan Alison and Toby Atkinson are a class act on the All Weather, performing well at both Kempton Park and Lingfield Park at the weekend.

Nathan Alison who came through the BRS on course 206 started 2009 well when he rode his second winner from only seven rides on Saturday at Kempton aboard Sky Quest. Trained by Alison's boss Jim Boyle, Sky Quest was ridden with confidence just behind the pace and was brought with a well timed run.

A stone's throw away at Lingfield Toby Atkinson was also in winning form aboard the Julia Feilden trained Bavarica, in leg 5 of the Weatherbys Hands & Heels Apprentice Series (in which he is in 4th place with 22 points, see website for full series information). Bavarica is a tricky ride and has only a short burst of speed so Toby was instructed by the trainer to be very patient on board and come as late as he dared. The jockey was up to the challenge and showed a maturity expected from the likes of Jamie Spencer when producing the mare to win. This was also Toby's second career win and, by the way that both of these British Racing School graduates performed, there will be plenty more winners in the future.
