The 2009 hands and heels series will be going right to the wire to determine the winner. With three races to go the first two riders in the points table are locked together.

David Kenny who is attached to the legendary Reg Hollinshead stable is currently on 64 points and Debra England who is apprentice to Clive Brittain in Newmarket is on 60 points. The next Hands & Heels Race will be at Leicester on 21st September. Both riders will need to work hard to secure good rides for these last three races. The winning rider for this year's series can expect to be given the opportunity to have a working holiday abroad for part of the winter.

Debra England.

Debra is no stranger to riding abroad as she represented Great Britain and the British Racing School (BRS) in Cologne last October in an international apprentice race event.

This year's candidate to ride for The BRS in Pisa is Josephine Bruning who is a graduate of the BRS and has ridden 10 winners to date. She is attached to David Simcock's Newmarket yard. There will be more on the BRS website about the European Apprentice Racing Schools (EARS) series soon.
