Another busy week at The British Racing School.

Congratulations to course 314 who graduated from their 9 week course on Monday, we wish them the best of luck in the future.

A further highlight from last weekend was seeing some of our trainees bearing flag bearers at British Champions Day at Ascot Racecourse. This involved them parading the flags made up in the colours of jockey silks during the opening ceremony, and once again at the front of the stands. They did exceptionally well and were fantastic ambassadors for the school. The BRS team were also down at Champions Day with our racing simulator. It was great to see some budding young jockeys having a go!

We had Race Experience Week running this week, we had five applicants who came for a week at The British Racing School to get some experience with racehorses and the racing industry. They will hopefully go on to gain a place on a 14 week course in the future.

Also taking place this week were our Pony Racing Training Days. We held a Level 2 training day on Wednesday, a Level 3 training day on Thursday and a Level 1 training day on Friday. These training days provide tuition on: balance, style, technique, pace, control and awareness. Delivered through a variety of training in the classroom, on the horse simulators and on candidates own ponies. Each riding session is videoed and reviewed concluding each day with. The Level 1 training days are a great introduction to the sport, designed for anyone to come and have a go, you don’t need to have a racing pony, it’s all about having a go and having fun! The Level 3 day acts as an assessment to qualify horse and rider for Pony Racing, so hopefully we will see some of Wednesday’s candidates out Pony Racing in the near future!
