Week Commencing 19th March

23rd Mar 2018 |

Hang on to your hats, because the last few weeks at the BRS have well and truly been a whirlwind – chaotic but very enjoyable, to say the least. You’d have been forgiven thinking that the BRS driveway was a lane on the M25 on Monday morning. We had Course 318 graduate, and whole host of new arrivals beginning.

But before all that, a quick throw back to last Tuesday and the beginning of Cheltenham. 1:30pm came around and all gathered to watch the curtain raiser of the festival, and cheer home our hopes. This saw the beginning of the hotly contested annual Cheltenham Tipster competition. Congratulations go to our very own star novice, Rory, who scooped first prize – just a few pounds less than Native River received for winning the big one…

Back to this week now and after 9 weeks of hard graft, enduring the Beast from the East and the likes of, Course 318 graduated on Monday with their heads held high. Newmarket trainer, Mr David Lanigan, attended the graduation, giving his wise words of wisdom and encouragement to the graduates all of whom are destined for long, successful careers in racing!

Arriving were a new group of hopeful students, starting their racing story, as well as a 2 groups of European students, one French the other Slovakian. As well as this, we welcomed the Prince’s Trust to the BRS for the first time – more on this next week!
