Week Commencing 26th February

2nd Mar 2018 |

The Beast from the East has well and truly had the racing industry on its knees this week, with meeting after meeting succumbing to the deluge of wintry weather that has hit our shores. Despite the obvious disruption, these circumstances really do bring out the best in people. Braving the chill and snow, our trainees have not let their progress be halted and have continued to do themselves proud by carrying on regardless, all of which would not be possible without the fantastic team of horses and staff we have at our disposal.

Wednesday saw Yogi Breisner accompany our current aspiring Conditionals as well as our 4 week course in a snowy schooling session. His wise words and passion were in no way compromised by the arctic conditions, giving horse and rider the chance to progress with their technique and horsemanship.

The annual British Racing Industry Road Show took place this week at Newbury and Newmarket racecourses on Tuesday and Thursday respectively. The event outlines the BHA’s plans for the next year. Our CEO, Grant Harris, was a member on the People’s Panel to discuss the recruitment, training and retention of people in the sport, and how we plan to further supply the industry with the next generation.

We were also delighted to welcome Bubby Upton, Junior European Eventing Champion, who has been using our Indoor School as a training facility due to the weather! We wish you luck for the upcoming Eventing season.

We hope that over the weekend the weather subside – even if it does make for fantastic photographs – and that all is back to full working order next week.
