Week Commencing 8th January

12th Jan 2018 |

The week began with the graduation of Course 316, with some parents travelling from as far as Scotland to see their son and daughters’ canter up the straights one last time. Flat jockey, Jamie Spencer was the guest speaker at the graduation and he congratulated the course on their hard work and achievements of the past 10 weeks.

After all the goodbyes, Monday also saw the arrival of two new courses. Firstly, Course 318 arrived to begin their 9 week Foundation Course and are looking forward to the challenges ahead. The other course joining us for 3 weeks are students from the Czech Republic Racing School. Both courses have settled in well and have been welcomed by Course 317 who are appreciative of the extra support in the yard.

Course 317 have completed week 9  of their training and are making good progress on the rounds, they are challenging themselves every day and are keen to progress their riding by riding harder horses and pushing themselves until they make it onto the straight gallop.

Finally this week, we saw yard favorite Our Vic, return from his Christmas holiday at Palace House in Newmarket. He has happily settled back into his old stable and will be brought back into riding work slowly over the coming weeks.

This week’s blog has been written by Amber Eden, Course 317 trainee.
