BRS Staff Member a Godolphin Stud and Stable Staff Award Finalist

26th Jan 2018 | Uncategorized

Much loved staff member (although officially ‘retired’) of 14 years, Peter Williams, is a finalist for the Rory MacDonald Community Award, awarded at the Godolphin Stud and Stable Staff Awards. This award is particularly special to us here at the BRS as it is named in honour of our previous Chief Executive.

Peter is not only exceptionally well liked by staff and trainees, but also by all who have the pleasure of attending the many BRS courses that he facilitates. Anyone who has attended a Trainers’ Module, Racing Secretary course, TRIC or the BHA Graduate Scheme will have had the pleasure of getting to know Peter.  In return, he has always taken a keen interest in anyone forging a new career in racing, and regularly tracks newly licensed trainers’ progress.  He thoroughly enjoys getting to know people, resulting in him being well respected and universally admired amongst all he has dealt with.

Alongside those courses Peter is a huge advocate of the Level 2 Diploma Apprenticeship Course, and is a key member of the Recruitment Team on Open Days enthusing potential applicants with his vast knowledge of the history of Newmarket and local trainers. He meets all the trainees during their Foundation Training with us, and is on hand to offer support and advice to those who require it.

Prior to working at the BRS, Peter was a guide at the National Stud and Palace House (formerly The National Horseracing Museum). Everyone at the BRS is immensely proud of Peter, and we wish him the best of luck for the awards night on the 19th February.
